Our ins. wouldn't approve the Aciphex until I've tried something cheaper. So I started Nexium last night. So far no change. I'm really getting discouraged.

On a side note, I have been making myself drink more and I've been eating popsicles. I'm just so tired of being sick.

The Nexium isn't working. Today and yesterday have been horrible. And I think I'm starting to feel contractions already. A few weeks earlier than last time.

I had my 12 week appt today. Baby's HB was in the 160s and looking good. I asked for something stronger than the nexium and was told that the other meds are in the same class and pretty much the same thing. He wrote me a Rx for pepcid if I want to try that. Not sure why I would want to. Otherwise, he said to eat smaller portions, stay on the nexium, and I should feel better in a few weeks. I am in tears I am so miserable. I told him I'm miserable, I'm bloated, my chest and throat are so heavy and tight, I'm having trouble breathing, but oh well, stay on the medicine that isn't working and hope you feel better in a few weeks.

awww Melissa I am sorry you are having such a hard time finding some relief. Prayers that something will work for you soon. Glad to hear there is such a strong heartbeat!

Melissa sorry you are feeling so bad still. Be careful with breathing problems as you can aspirate into your lungs.

Have you thought about going to see a GI doctor and seeing someone who specalizes in Acid Reflux?

This is what I was thinking and what I would do.... sure an ob/gyn sees cases of this with pregnant women, but a GI doctor is a specialist....

You can't go through this pregnancy not being able to breathe. Breathing is mandatory for a healthy pregnancy.

don't feel bad about pushing for more help or answers... its the doctors job. If they won't or can't help you,a sk them to refer you to someone who can.
