Re: Doctors Urging for a Safer, Choke-Free Hot Dog

Ridiculous!!! Does anyone have any common sense these days???

Watch your children... that's the bottom line!

Any food can be a choking hazard (as can many other items), take precautions, cut up food, and watch your child during meal time.

I cut up lots of food... hot dogs and grapes being two... both for Tyler and for Nathan.

I'm terrified about choking as well... Nathan choked on a cracker at the cottage when he was 18 months old. It was VERY scary. I tried to grab it from his mouth but couldn't feel it, did the Heimlich Maneuver but nothing, so out of pure desperation I flipped him upside down and started smacking him on the back. Not sure if it was the fingers in mouth, the thrusting on his chest, the flipping, or the banging on his back - but he threw up and the cracker came out. OH MY!!!

That's my opinion. Let's keep responsibility where it belongs.

Re: Doctors Urging for a Safer, Choke-Free Hot Dog

You know I find this very ironic wanting safer hot dogs. Liam recently had an allergic reaction to an injection that the pharmacutical company does not have tell us what they mixed the drug with and the FDA does not oversee said preservative. Something that I feel very strongly that government should be involved with yet lets spend time focusing on safer hotdogs.

GOOD moms let their kids lick the beaters. GREAT moms turn off the mixer first
