Re: Obama wins Nobel Peace Prize
I'm right there with you.... It makes me see the process and prize itself in a whole new light... not necessarily a good one.

Re: Obama wins Nobel Peace Prize
Am I understanding this correctly....he got the prize on the assumption that he is going to do things he says he is going to do.

Re: Obama wins Nobel Peace Prize
I haven't read much on it - but I'd guess it has a lot to do with the past 8 years and our political and world positions and actions during that time.
I think it's interesting to think just how the world has viewed us over the past 8 years when Obama's actions (such as bringing an emphasis back to diplomacy & a consideration not previously found in our foreign policy) now are considered worthy of a Nobel Peace prize. Positions which I think should be relatively standard for any POTUS. But then again Bush was nominated for a Peace prize (what???) so maybe it's just a screwed up process. ![]() Regardless - it's not like Obama had anything to do with it (he didn't nominate himself) but without a doubt it'll send the right's blogosphere into connipution fits!

Re: Obama wins Nobel Peace Prize
LOL - after reading some more I'm reminded that Kissinger was also awarded the Peace Prize so yeah...it's hardly a fool proof process.

Re: Obama wins Nobel Peace Prize
You have a President who hasn't done any thing to win the Noble Peace Prize. What did they do? Give it to him based on what he said he is going to do? He was President for less then 2 weeks when he got nominated.

Do you have a source which indicates that Obama was nominated before then?

Re: Obama wins Nobel Peace Prize
He hasn't done anything in his entire life that would qualify him... unless going on a world tour bashing and apologizing for your country is what it takes these days....
